The 2023 Dickson County Fair was very successful for everyone involved.  We had terrific support from Girl Scout Troop 642 and the Dickson County High School JROTC.  The funds we raised will support our high school scholarship programs and numerous Veterans' Support Programs like Wounded Warriors, Fisher House, Operation Comfort Warrior, and the Nashville and Murfreesboro VA Christmas parties.

Lucien Berry Post 115 congratulates LILLIAN PAYNE from Dickson County High School (DCHS) and JACKSON SHAW HAYES from Creekwood High School (CWHS) on their selection as POST 115's SENIOR SCHOLARS for 2023.  They each received a check for $500 to pursue their educational studies.

Our JROTC cadets recognized for SCHOLASTIC EXCELLENCE in 2023 are HAILEY DRAKE from CWHS and KATIE CROSBY from DCHS.  SAMARRAH ALMENDAREZ (DCHS) and ADELYNE ALVARADO (CWHS) are recognized for MILITARY EXCELLENCE for 2023.  Each of these cadets received a certificate and a medal/ribbon which they will wear on their cadet uniform.  In receiving the award, they became eligible for the $3,000 Frederick Bowling Scholarship.

                                                                                                               -----------------------------

HOUSTON RILEY and KONYEA LANG from DCHS and HAROLD LUCAS and DREW ODOM from CWHS are our 2023 Delegates to American Legion Boys State.  They, and other boys from across the state, will build and run an artificial "state" at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville from 21 to 26 May.  This program is a noteworthy increase to their life-experience and a permanent addition to their professional resume.
